Rapyd

Hack the Galaxy

Role(s): Creative Director, Copywriter
Category: FinTech

Background: How do you convince 50,000 software developers around the world to join an online community hosted by a FinTech company that makes a currency-agnostic global payment API (it's okay if you have to google any of that)? You create a contest with dozens of customized puzzles that earn participants chances for a trip to the edge of space. And have international space icon William Shatner pitch it for you.

Results: The campaign developed a bizarrely devoted fan base (when does that happen on YouTube?) And the results were extraordinary — in just over 2 months, “hackthegalaxy” and “Rapyd community” were searched over 40k times on Google. And we reached the 50,000 developer sign-up goal in half the allotted time.

Winner: Digiday Community Building

Shortlist: Clios Film Craft Casting/Performance
